Description

Pontifical Ring. It is made of gold, like the others. In the middle of it can be seen a sapphire and all around it lots of pearls and gems, with these words engraved on it: Annulus Sancti Dionysis

• Napoleon I had it mounted on his Hand of Justice sceptre in 1804.
• Currently in the Louvre, number MS 85.

• In Le Trésor de Saint-Denis, Danielle Gaborit-Chopin says it was made in the beginning of the 13th century.
• 4.5 cm in diameter
