Adapted from Félibien, Plate III, Item A
In this reliquary, which is made of gilded vermeil, is enclosed a hand of Saint Thomas the Apostle, which can be seen through a crystal, whose two ends are embellished with large pearls, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds. Inside the crystal is a scroll of gold, on which is the following inscription: Hic est manus B. Thomae apostoli quam misit in latus Domini nostri Jesu Christi. This reliquary is engraved with the arms of Jean, Duc du Berry who presented it to the abbey of Saint Denis in 1394.
