Description: The back and sides of this plate are covered with the royal robes which King Louis XIV, our august monarch, wore the day of his coronation celebrated at Reims on the seventh of June, 1654. Here one sees his royal cape covered with gold fleurs-des-lis, on a background of crimson velvet trimmed with ermine, his shirt of red satin, his tunic,his dalmatic, and his ankle-boots, all covered with gold fleurs-des-lys,
