Description

Baton of gold vermeil that the Choirmaster uses in the choir on formal occasions. It was Guillaume de Roquemont, choirmaster of Saint-Denis who had it made in 1394, as can be seen by the verse engraved around the baton.

Subsequent History

Deposited in the Louvre on December 5, 1793.Regilded, and integrated into the lenghtened part of shaft of the scepter of Charles V in 1804, by Biennais, for the coronation of Napolion I.
